The backstory
Founded by an engineer and a pro racer
SUPERLAP was founded by sim consultant & engineer Dan Cycholl and professional racer James Hayosh. Like most pros, Jim regularly uses sim racing as preparation, and together they put their passion for motorsport & technology together to create SUPERLAP.

Before you drive
What is sim racing?
Sim racing uses real world physics to give an authentic experience. It's used by professional F1 drivers to prepare for races. Unlike a video game, sim racing translates to real-world racing experience. Our sims have advanced motion technology. While this provides for the most immersive experience, it can cause motion sickness for some.
I've never used a sim before — can I still come race?
Absolutely. Our sims are perfect for first timers as well as seasoned professionals. If this is your first race with us we ask that you book our First Drive session so you can learn the basics and proper technique.
Where is SUPERLAP located?
We're located on the west side of Woodward, at 27723 Woodward Avenue, Berkley, MI 48072. Right between Vinsetta Garage and Westborn Market.
What are the age and height requirements?
15 years old and over, or those with driving experience. Minimum height requirement is 62 inches. Under the age of 18 requires a parent's signature on our liability waiver.
Where can I park?
Parking is available in front of, and directly behind our building designated with SUPERLAP signage only. Street parking is also available. Please do not park in any lot with a Vinsetta Garage sign as you may be towed.
What should I bring or wear?
Wear whatever you feel comfortable in. We ask that you wear socks or bring a clean pair of shoes to help keep our equipment clean and working properly. We will have a selection of professional driving gloves & socks available for purchase.
Can I schedule a private booking?
Yes. Get SUPERLAP all to yourself for a private event, or rent a sim out to your preferred location.
What else is available at SUPERLAP?
SUPERLAP also has a coffee bar with prepackaged snacks & beverages. We've also got some fun merch available in limited runs.
Do you have gift cards?
Yes, we have physical (in-store only) & digital gift cards available in $50, $100 & $200 increments — but we can place any custom amount on the card that you'd like.
How do you keep the equipment clean between use?
We make every effort to wipe and sanitize surfaces prior to your arrival.
What is your cancellation policy?
No refund will be given if cancelled within 24 hours of booking.
Do I need to know how to drive a manual?
No, there is no clutch on the sims. You will instead shift with your paddles at the redline. Make sure to glance at the brake and throttle meter to see how hard you are actually braking — you'll need to press harder than you think!
Do you offer coaching?
Yes, we offer 1:1 coaching and small group coaching.
